For years, Mansfield Kiwanis has participated in the Meals on Wheels (MOW) program. The mission of MOW is, “To promote dignity and independence of older adults, persons with disabilities, and other homebound persons by delivering nutritious meals and providing or coordinating needed services.”
Darryl Haynes is the Mansfield Kiwanis coordinator of Club volunteers for MOW. Our Club and with the assistance of the After Noon Club deliver meals for MOW every Thursday. Our Club is always needing more MOW volunteers.
Volunteers need to pick up the food for delivery from the Wesley Mission Center located on the campus of the First United Methodist Church.
Inside the Center you will find the MOW program and the coolers for the food. You will also be given the delivery sheet for the route that Kiwanis has been assigned. The route has the name of the client plus instruction for delivery and what to do if the client does not answer the door.
MOW is a great program and service opportunity for club members. Thank you to all club members that already volunteer!
